“你吃饭之后才刷牙啊!” Okay, I’m guilty of that. But that ain’t the point of today’s post. They always say that there’s a difference between Western and Asian cooking. Gordon Ramsay got scolded by a Chinese chef for timing his food in the cooker. Asian food, in that sense, is always more “emotional”. We go according to estimation. Today was the day my agar-ation levelled up.
Got up real early to an empty house with a lonely grandmother fiddling around the kitchen apparatus, scavenging for food. We had a good chat about life and Malaysia. I think she’s really entertaining.
For the first time in a long while I felt the warmth of Home. She was pretty encouraging, even while I was chopping up garlic. She was apparently impressed that I could chop so finely. Phew, thank God they sent me for exchange. Ps: my hands still smell of garlic- but once again, not the point.
Granny is warm.and niceand really lovely. I wish she’ll come to teach me more. I’ll be the master chef of theWestEast.
